Does walking actually lose weight?
Im currently trying to lose weight, i need to lost about 20 or so pounds. And i hear people saying that walking loses weight, but i know im mixed up. But its a psychological problem i have lol, if i dont feel like im losing weight, then its like im not. I dont sweat when i walk, and i dont feel tired what so ever, my legs dont feel tired either. Why is this? My friend even says thats his cardio. I was like, really?Maybe my ankle pains abit. But i walk miles and my legs never hurt, i dont sweat either, on body or legs. Why is this?
Walking can cause you to lose weight because it burns calories. However it does not burn calories quickly. If I ran for half an hour I would burn over 4 times as many calories than if I walked for half an hour. You do not sweat because walking does not usually cause people to sweat.
If you really want to lose weight you should put more effort into it. The more energy you use while you exercise the more fat you burn. If you walk the same amount every day you will not continue to lose weight. Instead you will start maintaining your new weight. I recommend that you keep on increasing the duration or intensity of your exercise. You could pick up the pace and walk farther or you could try running or biking.
